The event will feature an Asian-American lineup of artists, food trucks, and a wide-range of community sponsors and partners 

Seattle, WA (July 21, 2019) Chinatown-International District’s Block Party will happen on August 3, 2019 under the King St. Colonnades located on King Street between 8th and 10th avenues featuring performing artists, DJ’s, and other special programming. 

Artists Prometheus Brown (Blue Scholars, Beatrock Music, The Bar) and Bambu (Beatrock, The Bar) will headline this years event along with LA-based Soulection artist, Kronika, up and coming Seattle DJ and Producer Chong The Nomad and more. The programming will include a district-wide bar crawl, ‘SHIFT’ Import Car Show, a special screening of ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ at Hing Hay Park and a Boozy Boba Beer Garden Hosted By East Trading Company. 

Established as a platform, the event showcases and highlights the talents, diversity and richness of the Asian American community in Seattle. The event will activate the historical King St. Colonnades, promoting engagement, public safety and positive preservation of historic structure. The event is a FREE immersive, one day celebration of film, music, and art, showcased by a dedicated committee of volunteers.  This will be the 2nd Block Party after the inaugural grassroots event first took place in 2016 and had featured artists Shawn Wasabi and Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians.) The all-ages event will take place at King St Colonnades, the intersection of all the neighborhoods in the CID. 

The event is supported by CenturyLink Field, Koda Condominiums, Pho Bac, International Examiner, Oasis, and East Trading Company CID Block Party is organized by the API Food Fight Club and members of the community.

API Food Fight Club is a network and organizing coalition of young, progressive Asian and Pacific American organizers, activists, nonprofit workers, and leaders seeking to build and change community through art, history, business, and social justice using food as a common ground to build connections. Outside of the CID Block Party, API Food Fight Club hosts the annual Donnie Chin memorial barbecue for neighborhood residents and fights for social justice within and alongside Asian-American communities.
