Tomo Nakayama

Born in Japan and raised in Seattle, Washington, Tomo Nakayama is an artist whose melodic, complex and emotionally compelling music has been praised by NPR, New York Times, and The Stranger. After two critically acclaimed indie-folk albums “Fog on the Lens” and “Pieces of Sky” (named "Best Folk Act" by Seattle Weekly), he surprised his fans by releasing the synthpop album "Melonday" (on Seattle label Porchlight Records). Co-produced by Yuuki Matthews (The Shins, Teardrops, Sufjan Stevens) and mastered by Dave Cooley (M83, Paramore, Tame Impala), “Melonday” was named one of the Top Albums of 2020 by Seattle Times, KEXP, and Seattle Met Magazine, and debuted at #1 on KEXP’s NW Charts. He has toured across the US and Japan, sharing the stage with Built to Spill, Thao, Daði Freyr, Fleet Foxes, Michael Hurley, Sons of Kemet, Ben Gibbard, Damien Jurado, Wye Oak, and Cornelius. He has collaborated with Dave Matthews, Sera Cahoone, Jherek Bischoff, and Jeremy Enigk (Sunny Day Real Estate). He also composed music and appeared as an actor in the Lynn Shelton film “Touchy Feely” with Elliot Page and Rosemarie DeWitt.

Shawn Wasabi

Artist. Creator. Producer. Engineer. Weird kid forever. Shawn Wasabi’s unique creative expression is a reflection of his distinctive self. As a second generation Asian-American kid of Filipino descent, Wasabi’s fast fingers first wowed the internet in 2015 with the release of “MARBLE SODA.” Wasabi followed up his debut with a series of live performance videos that not only showcased his dexterous controller mastery, but his unique formula of visual approach to music and ability to build musical worlds that bring the console to the dancefloor.

Hollis Wong Wear is a songwriter, musician, speaker, creative generator and community advocate who lives between Los Angeles and Seattle, WA. She is the lead vocalist of the electronic R&B trio The Flavr Blue, and was GRAMMY nominated in 2014 for her work with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

IDEC is dedicated to providing services to Seattle Chinatown International District which enables the community to thrive. Offering First Aid stations at the many community events through out the year are the most identifiable of our services, but IDEC is also engaged in providing training in first aid, emergency preparedness and personal safety. IDEC is currently dedicating its resources to promote public safety in the community.
